 Partners Engaged

 

·         The World Health Organisation at global, interregional, regional and country levels -- WHO headquarters, Mekong Malaria Programme, the Southeast Asia Regional Office, and Western Pacific Regional office --  manages grants, provides technical oversight, supports and co-ordinates all project components

 

·         Cambodia's National Malaria Centre (CNM) and Thailand's Bureau of Vector-Borne Disease(BVBD), parts of  respective health ministries, lead national efforts, supporting implementation of services at provincial, district and community levels.

 

·         Malaria Consortium, a non-government organisation, provides technical assistance and human resources, monitors and evaluates activities, and ensures that results are applied for better effects.

 

·         Research is conducted by three units in Thailand affiliated to the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University -- Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Research Unit (MORU), Centre of Excellence for Biomedical and Public Health Informatics (BIOPHICS), and Geographic Information Unit.  In Cambodia, Institut Pasteur leads operational research for focal screening and treatment.

 

·         National Containment Task Forces in Cambodia and Thailand oversee implementation and monitor progress at country level.

 

·         The International Containment Task Force, chaired by an independent scientist, reviews progress at regional and global levels, assesses technical achievements, and dispenses technical advice.
